Georgia has more than 8,000 years of winemaking history. Archaeological evidence identifies it as one of the world’s earliest wine-producing regions. You can learn more about this history through the National Wine Agency of Georgia.
One of Georgia’s most distinctive traditions is the Qvevri winemaking method. Georgian winemakers traditionally bury large clay vessels called qvevris underground to ferment and store wine. In 2013, UNESCO added the ancient Georgian Qvevri winemaking method to its Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

The meeting point is located in Old Tbilisi, close to Sioni Cathedral and within walking distance of many central attractions.
Is advance booking required?
Yes. Please book at least 24 hours in advance so that we can coordinate the tasting with the wine bar. Your booking is confirmed only after you receive a confirmation email.
Can I arrive without a reservation?
Unfortunately, we cannot accept walk-in guests. Advance booking is necessary.
How much does the wine tasting cost?
The price is 90 GEL per person, payable in cash.
How many people will be in the group?
Scheduled tastings have a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 8 participants. Larger groups can contact us to discuss a private arrangement.
Can solo travelers or couples book?
Yes, you can submit a booking request. The scheduled tasting requires a minimum total of three participants to operate, and availability will be confirmed by email.
In which language is the tasting conducted?
Scheduled wine tastings are conducted in English.
What happens if my preferred date is sold out?
Please contact us. When possible, we may be able to add places or arrange an additional tasting, although this cannot be guaranteed.
Can a private group choose a different starting time?
Alternative starting times may be possible for private groups. Please contact us before booking so we can discuss the available options.
Is this a walking tour?
No. This is a seated tasting at a wine bar, with no walking route.
Are the same wines served at every tasting?
The planned selection includes two amber wines, one white and two reds. Individual wineries or labels may occasionally change depending on availability.
What should I do if I have a food allergy?
Please tell us about any allergies before booking. The snacks normally include dairy products, and churchkhela commonly contains walnuts or other nuts. We will confirm what can be accommodated.
