Which Tbilisi walking tour should I choose?
For most first-time visitors, the Old Tbilisi Free Tour is the best place to begin because it introduces the historic center and the city’s essential landmarks.
Choose the Hidden Tbilisi Tour for courtyards, residential buildings and architectural details. Choose the Alternative Tbilisi Tour for Fabrika, New Tiflis, Chugureti and creative neighborhoods.

Are all your Tbilisi tours free?
No. Old Tbilisi, Hidden Tbilisi and Alternative Tbilisi are tip-based walking tours with no fixed ticket price.
The Soviet Tour of Tbilisi, Tbilisi Street Art Tour, Georgian Food Tasting Tour and Georgian Wine Tasting are paid experiences with fixed prices displayed on their individual tour pages.
Booking and Prices
Do I need to book a tour in advance?
Yes. Advance booking is required for all scheduled tours.
Your reservation is confirmed only after you receive a confirmation email. If you do not receive one, please check your spam folder and contact us before coming to the meeting point.
Some paid experiences must be booked at least 24 or 48 hours in advance because we need to coordinate with museums, restaurants, tasting venues or transportation providers.
How does a tip-based free walking tour work?
Our free walking tours have no fixed ticket price.
At the end of the tour, you decide how much the experience was worth and support your guide with a tip based on your satisfaction and budget. Payment is made directly to the guide.
This model allows travelers with different budgets to join while motivating our guides to provide an engaging and high-quality experience.
Is there a minimum number of participants?
A minimum total of four participants is normally required for a scheduled tip-based tour to operate.
If fewer than four guests attend, the scheduled tour may not run. When possible, the guide may offer the guests who are present an optional private tour for a fixed total group price. Guests are completely free to accept or decline this offer.
Paid tours have their own minimum and maximum group sizes, which are shown on each tour page.
Can I join with a large group?
If you are traveling with a group of ten or more people, please contact us before booking.
Depending on guide availability, we may arrange an additional guide, a private tour or a different starting time. Advance notice helps us provide a better experience without making the regular group too large.
How can I pay for the tour?
Tips for free walking tours are paid directly to the guide at the end of the tour.
Our paid tours currently have fixed prices and are generally paid in cash. Please check the individual tour page for the exact price, payment information and what is included.
Meeting Points and Arrival
Where do the free walking tours begin?
The Old Tbilisi and Hidden Tbilisi tours meet at Pushkin Park on Freedom Square, next to the Golden Fountain.
The Alternative Tbilisi Tour begins inside Fabrika Tbilisi, near the reception area at 8 Egnate Ninoshvili Street.
Look for a guide carrying a Tbilisi Free Walking Tours badge or sign. Your confirmation email will contain the final meeting instructions.
Where do the paid tours begin?
Each paid experience has its own meeting point:
- The Soviet Tour of Tbilisi begins inside 300 Aragveli Metro Station, next to the Dunkin Donuts booth.
- The Tbilisi Street Art Tour begins at the reception area inside Fabrika Tbilisi.
- The Georgian Food Tasting Tour begins at 13 Ioane Shavteli Street, next to the Clock Tower.
- The Georgian Wine Tasting begins at 13 Sioni Street, in front of the wine bar.
Always follow the meeting instructions in your confirmation email.
What should I do if I am late?
Please arrive at least ten minutes before the scheduled starting time. Tours are expected to begin on time, and we cannot guarantee that the group will wait for late arrivals.
If you are delayed, call or WhatsApp us as soon as possible at +995 558 13 14 15. Depending on the route and how late you are, we may be able to help you find the group, but joining after departure is not always possible.
Do tours finish at the meeting point?
Not always. Most of our tours follow a point-to-point route.
The Old Tbilisi Free Tour finishes near the Sulfur Baths in Abanotubani. The Alternative Tbilisi Tour finishes within walking distance of Fabrika. Please check the individual tour description when planning what to do after your tour.
Practical Information
How much walking is involved?
The amount of walking depends on the tour.
The Old Tbilisi Free Tour lasts approximately 2.5–3 hours. The Hidden and Alternative tours last approximately 2–2.5 hours. Paid experiences vary from seated tastings with minimal walking to tours lasting 3–4 hours.
Tbilisi has uneven pavements, cobbled streets, slopes and occasional steps. The pace is relaxed, but comfortable walking shoes are strongly recommended.
What language are the tours offered in?
Our scheduled Tbilisi walking tours are conducted in English.
Private tours in another language may sometimes be available depending on the guide and the requested date. Please contact us in advance to discuss the available options.
Do tours operate in bad weather?
The Old Tbilisi Free Tour normally operates in rain, sunshine or snow.
Routes, transportation or individual stops may occasionally change because of severe weather, construction, public events, temporary street closures or circumstances beyond our control. If an important change affects your booking, we will try to contact you using the information provided during reservation.
What should I bring?
We recommend bringing:
- Comfortable walking shoes
- Drinking water
- Sun protection during hot weather
- A raincoat or umbrella when rain is expected
- Warm clothing during winter
- Cash for tips, paid tours and any small personal expenses
Please avoid bringing heavy luggage because storage is not available during the tours.
Are the tours suitable for children?
Children are welcome as long as they can comfortably keep up with the group and remain with their accompanying adult.
The Georgian Food Tasting Tour has separate arrangements and possible discounted prices for children. Please contact us before booking so we can confirm the price and food arrangements.
Are the tours wheelchair accessible?
Unfortunately, most routes are not fully wheelchair accessible. Historic Tbilisi includes uneven pavements, cobbled streets, slopes, steps, narrow entrances and buildings without elevators.
Accessibility also differs between individual tours and venues. Please contact us before booking with details about your mobility requirements, and we will provide the most accurate information about the selected route.
Do you stop for breaks or toilets?
Most walking tours do not include a long scheduled break. However, there are several places along the routes where participants may be able to sit briefly, refill drinking water or use a toilet.
If you need a short stop, please tell the guide. We will try to help, although the entire group cannot always wait for an extended period.
Can I leave before the tour ends?
Yes. If you need to leave early, simply tell the guide before you go so that we do not think you have become separated from the group.
